Journal Day 4 - 6th December-Vinga & San Nicolau Mic Programmes

Woke up a really bad throat so downed the honey, lemon & ginger and anti-biotics which Adina gave me - can be bought over the counter here!!  I must keep myself fit.

AM off to Vinga Church Children's programme with the team of Spencer, Lynsey, Bogdan and his mum, Delia.  Delightful morning and so...o encouraged to see the growth in this ministry.  Lynsey and Spencer are great teachers and rehearsals are in full swing for the Christmas programme.    Each Saturday Spencer and Lynsey also prepare sandwiches for the children - for some this is the only meal of the day.  Today they also have muffins and little gift bags of sweets, chocolates and oranges for the children as part of the Mus Nicolai celebrations.  The children were overjoyed.

I returned to Arad with Bogdan and after spending a little time with his wife, Lili and their beautiful baby, Max I made my way to the San Nicolau Mic Saturday programme which began with the Music School lessons and then led to the Kids Club called Jesus Generation.  50 children were jam packed into the small building - larger premises are required!  What a growing ministry thanks to the leadership.

So many children from several surrounding villages are attending the music school for keyboard, guitar, mandalin and drum lessons.  They are being ferried in by Marius and 2 minibuses. The music was superb with so much talent and Marius is such a brilliant teacher and loved by all.    The Charity supports the running of the club which has recently purchased 2 new guitars and a keyboard.

The Kid's Club "Jesus Generation" followed.  I could not believe the extent of the programme catering for all age groups.  What a team and so well prepared for all the lessons.  In one day, they covered  Praise and Worship in preparation for Christmas, solid bible teaching classes, individual countries, individual missionaries and sensitive life topics, for older children.  Thank you to Marius, Elena, Adi, Bogdan and Elena who prepares all the refreshments each week.

Met a young boy called Alex who may need an operation on his eye.  Marius and Elena are taking him to the doctor next week to see whether an operation is needed - they will keep me informed of developments.
