Congratulations to our Cardiff Marathon runners!

Hayley & Eifion with their medals
With Wayne hanging up his trainers this year we were blessed with younger blood  in the form of Hayley (from Park Church, Merthyr), Eifion (from the Rhondda) and Barry (from Brecon).  Their heavy training schedules payed off and there was much enthusiasm among them.   They all did magnificent times and are keen to enter again next year They are currently collecting their sponsor money.

We give thanks for their commitment to support the Projects.    Hayley has seen first hand the needs when she visited Romania to work alongside Irene in 2007.

Support from Sharon Thomas and the team of Santander, Aberdare

Sharon is seen here on the right
I previously made mention of Sharon Thomas who participated in our Merthyr Walk in July. She  is a Personal Banker with Santander and in addition to the £668 sponsorship she collected for the walk, she took advantage of the Match Funding Scheme by her employer thus doubling the amount raised.   In addition to this Sharon took her enthusiasm to help the poor, sick and vulnerable back to her branch in Aberdare and the five staff have been  busy collecting much needed shoebox fillers.   A Big Thank You to everyone concerned.

If there are any other bank or building society workers out there who are game for a sponsored walk, marathon or other such event then I would love to hear from you.  I take care of all the administration.

A big Thank You to supporters of our Shoe Box Appeal

Thank you to Debbie Davies from Seven Sisters seen here on
the right who has again this year been collecting items
and making up Widows Mite Christmas boxes.
Each year we never cease to be amazed by the support we receive for our Christmas Appeal.  Thank You to everyone who has a heart to help in any way:  to our friend Sheila who covers all the boxes, to  those who generously donate  filled shoe boxes, who gather items to fill shoe boxes, who donate monetary gifts for fillers and transportation, to our many knitters in the area  who make items to order and to everyone who prays for us.  Here is the work of just 2 of our supporters - other articles will follow later.

These are just some of the 100 Children's boxes & other items
