The Shoebox Operation in Romania

After the huge shoe box gift operation in Wales we spent all day here in Romania sorting boxes and packing gifts for the 172 patients at Mocrea Mental Hospital.  All the large boxes of shoe box gifts had to be opened to sort all the various items that had been packed in to fill the gaps - these ranged from medication, towels, slippers, toilet bags to aid and large soft toys.  Then further Widow's Mite gifts were sorted together with all the items sent over from Wales, for the Mocrea presents and the Homeless and Abandoned Baby projects.    We thank our Romanian friends Vio and Ianci (seen opposite) who are Pastor Jackie's neighbours for all their help.

We also give thanks to Kay Grover and her team of ladies from Paignton, Devon who made all the beautiful bags for the Mocrea presents.  In addition to those items packed we will purchase fruit, sweets, biscuits etc.

After finishing we enjoyed a nice meal at the home of our friends, Peter and Christine (seen here) who helped us with the packing.   Before retiring we shared some Romanian carols with our hosts, the Lucas.  It's been a long but blessed day and I am ready to snuggle up in bed.  Very changeable weather today - 13 degrees!!!!
