Christmas at San Nicolau Mic Kids Club & Music School

The temperatures have dropped. -5 last night and it is snowing today - quite heavy tonight and the roads were quite treacherous on our journey home.  Just as well Pastor Jackie has a 4 X 4 and is a good driver.

Spent much of morning catching up on admin before catching a tram to Peter and Christine's home in San Nicolau Mic - I really enjoyed a nice walk from the tram stop.  More work for Christine and I in the back room sorting out stock and aid to be distributed.  We were invited in for lunch with their neighbours who had just slaughtered a pig this morning.  They had prepared a nice meal of pork cooked in cabbage and onion.  Then we were off in the snow to the SNM Centre to enjoy the Christmas Kids Club programme followed by the shoe box distribution.  We give thanks for Hainford School in Norwich who kindly supplied these gifts which Peter transported to Romania. I had the opportunity of explaining to all the new children who we were and reminded them that Jesus was the reason for the season and that the gifts were His provision.

We ordered fresh pizzas to be delivered and also supplied drinks, clementines and chocolate bars in beautifully knitted snowmen and Christmas stockings. Special thank to June Thomas from Aberdare who supplied them all.

The Christmas programme was a joy to behold with carol singing, teaching and prayers.  Marius the team leader is such a blessing to everyone.  He is very humble man - loved and admired by all - a true professional in his organisational skills and a gifted musician and teacher.  He also has a dedicated team who support him.  We are blessed to have them all.  They were given boxes of chocolates in appreciation of all their hard work.    The leaders and children will be going out carol singing for several nights over Christmas.
