Journal Day 7 - Tuesday 9th December - Timisoara Widows Mite Project

Up early to meet Vlad in Selgros car-park in Timisoara for 2 days of visiting widows in the state of Timisoara.  Vlad brings along his friend, Dan and fitting everything in the car was quite an accomplishment.

Today we visited widows in the villages of Comlosul Mare and Vizedjia and sorted out their wood needs for the winter.  I love all these old ladies.  They live in remote villages and lead such hard lives with little money, outside toilets and wells for water.  All of them loved their Christmas gifts.  Because I know them all personally I am able to make up the gifts to meet their individual needs.   And they lo....ove their slippers each year.

One dear lady was worried about a legal issue regarding her house - another had her ceiling almost down, another had no electricity.  Dear Lena Roneanu had passed away but we give thanks that she is with her Maker.  Another old lady was upset because her family had bought her some wood but it had been stolen.

Others had medical expenses that they could not afford.  One had cancer and another had a son who stole off her-2 had no pensions. The last  widow of the day we visited was separating corn off the cob before using the stems to burn on her fire.    So many needs but most of all the wood.  Money has been received from our charity and from the States but there was not enough funds to cover all the needs.  Thank you Lord for supplying additional funds to help with wood and where needed medical expenses.    To respect their privacy I have not named the ladies individually.
