Journal Day 8 - 10th December - Widows Timisoara Day 2

Today we are visiting 2 other remote village - Dolat and Graniceri.  Unfortunately there is no time to go to  the very remote area of Varadia which is a considerable distance away in another direction.  I will aim to visit next year but obviously Vlad will see them all with Christmas food parcels and will give their Christmas  boxes, blankets and slippers then.    As with each individual we will pray for them.

1st visit of the day - M of Dolat who is really sick with a chest infection.  She is such a dear lady and so grateful for all the Lord provides her with.  Sadly she has 10 children - none of whom support her practically or financially.   Sadly this is a legacy of communism when children did not have to care for their parents.     Because I am taking medication myself I gave her all I had in my bag to try and help her chest infection.  We are giving thanks that she has a small supply of wood (until we c an get more to her) and at least she is warm.    She had some clothes soaking in a pan on the floor but refused to let me wash them out for her. I had to respect her wishes but I would have loved to help.

Next visit - M who says that today she was led (for no apparent reason) to cook "langos" - bit like a pancake.  She smiled when we arrived unannounced and we all decided that this was God at work.  She was widowed last year after caring for her husband with dementia for many years.  She has a mini farmyard outside and loves working in the garden.  Noted she needs Calcium.  Next visit P who was so excited opening her box to find a purse plus a note for medical expenses and  she loved her new slippers.  P has severe balance problems. We must always ensure that these slippers keep coming !!!

2 widows were not home but we left their gifts with friends.

It has been an eventful 2 days and we have been blessed to spend value time with each widow, just chatting and praying about their needs.  Please pray for provision for them.  We desperately need more funds to maintain this project.

Tonight I am back in Arad to find Adina and Mama Maria making up their own shoe box gifts  for children in a deprived area of Romania.
